Yessica Baeten
Yessica has an MA in children’s book illustration from the Cambridge School of Art, graduating in 2019. She has also studied film and television studies at the University of Amsterdam and has a BSc in communication and multimedia design from NHL Hogeschool.
In daily life, Yessica treats everything as a potential story idea. From childhood memories, the natural world and philosophy to an overheard conversation by the bus stop. Her stories are often humorous, with a sensitive note.
Her first picture book is The Zoo Inside Me, written by Ruth Doyle, published by Andersen in 2022.
Yessica lives in the Netherlands with her partner and young daughter.
